Position Overview
As our Art Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing innovative visual concepts across integrated digital campaigns and brand touchpoints. Success in the role will come from your strategic creative thinking, strong graphic design foundation, and ability to art direct compelling brand experiences that inspire human performance. You'll collaborate closely with our Senior Creative Director to conceptualize campaigns, design comprehensive marketing materials, and occasionally direct photo/video content. Candidates must be willing to work in a hybrid model (2-3 days in office) and in this role, you will report to our Senior Creative Director.
How will you bring leadership to PLAE?
- Drive the creative development of integrated digital campaigns from concept through execution across multiple touchpoints.
- Design comprehensive marketing materials including campaign assets, brochures, trade show displays, environmental graphics, and digital advertising.
- Art direct photoshoots and video content, working with photographers and videographers to achieve brand vision as well as being comfortable getting behind the camera yourself on occasion.
- Develop innovative visual concepts that push creative boundaries while maintaining brand consistency across all platforms.
- Create layouts, typography systems, and visual hierarchies for complex marketing campaigns and brand communications.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to translate strategic objectives into compelling visual solutions.
- Team Player - Lead creative brainstorming sessions and provide art direction guidance to junior team members and external vendors.
How will you know you are perfect for this key role at PLAE?
As our ideal candidate you will have 3-5 years of relevant creative experience, credentials and skills including:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Visual Communications, or related creative field.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design expertise, campaign development, and art direction capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Proven experience developing integrated marketing campaigns across print, digital, and environmental applications.
- Strong typography, layout, and visual hierarchy skills with attention to design fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience behind the camera, including photography and videography skills, with the ability to personally shoot content when needed.
- Ability to think strategically about creative solutions while executing tactically across multiple projects.
- Understanding of production processes for print, digital, and large-format environmental graphics.
- Possess a "Humble and Hungry" mindset with a passion for innovation and pushing creative boundaries.
- Comfortable leading creative discussions and presenting concepts to stakeholders at various levels.
- Strong interest in athletics, human performance, and premium brand experiences.

Your normal work hours will be 8 hours a day Monday through Friday. As a winner and somebody who understands the creative process and timelines, you recognize that at times there will be the need for flexibility in our hours to achieve our individual, team and company ambitions. Travel approximately 10% - 20% of the time.
